Isle of Man commissioner in court over child images

A Peel commissioner has appeared in court in the Isle of Man on charges relating to indecent images of children.

Arran Ernest Kaighin faces seven counts of making a computer image containing indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of children.

The 43-year-old was remanded in custody until the 21 August when he will appear in court via a live link.

Mr Kaighin's advocate made no request for bail and legal aid was granted.

The married father-of-five stood as a House of Keys candidate for Peel in last year's general election.
