A memorial service has been held on the Isle of Man to remember 35 residents who died in a plane crash in 1958.

A plane carrying car workers from Ronaldsway airport to visit a factory in Greater Manchester crashed into Winter Hill in Lancashire.

Just seven people on board survived the accident.

Retired minister Reverend Leslie Guthrie said: "Seven children lost their fathers that day, 33 widows were made that day. At the time the population of the Isle of Man was half what it is now, the tragedy had a terrible impact."
