Isle of Man unemployment is expected to rise over the next few months, according to the treasury minister.

Eddie Teare said "seasonal factors" could mean the number of people claiming benefits is set to increase during winter.

Unemployment figures in November 2011 increased by 61 taking the current level of island unemployment to 2.3%.

Mr Teare added: "External conditions are conspiring to make this is a difficult time for the economy."
