Guernsey's only MRI scanner has been repaired after being out of service since Thursday and resulting in 40 hospital appointments being delayed.

Additional scanning sessions have been arranged to clear the backlog at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.

Affected patients have been given alternative appointments, said the Health and Social Services Department.

Three faults in the scanner have been repaired and the hospital apologised for the disruption.

The scanner arrived in Guernsey in 2007 and was paid for by a fundraising campaign.
