A move to allow States members to attend meetings remotely has been narrowly rejected by politicians.
Members can only vote if physically present at meetings under the States rules of procedure.
The States Assembly and Constitution Committee proposed allowing politicians to use technology to join meetings they were unable to attend in person.
However, the proposals failed to win the support of the majority of States members with the vote being lost 25-22.
