Guernsey flood warning issued for west coast

Heavy winds and high tides are likely to cause flooding along Guernsey's west coast, according to States forecasters.

Exposed low-lying coastal areas are likely to be worst hit, prompting the Perelle coast road to be closed.

Police have warned drivers and pedestrians using coast roads and walkways to take extreme care as conditions are likely to be hazardous.

Perelle Bay Hotel owner, Goon De Frietas, said they were hoping it would not be as extreme as earlier storms.

She said they were preparing for the worst, after similar weather conditions earlier this month caused severe damage.
