Guernsey road closures cause havoc

Guernsey roads came to a standstill after a high tide and strong winds battered the coastline.

States Works had to wait for the tide to drop before clearing stones and sea debris from the road between the Red Lion and Halfway.

Saints Bay is still flooded and remains closed and police have been redirecting traffic around the island.

State Works said that although tides would be easing off there was still a risk of coastal flooding.
