Jersey motorist killed in St Helier collision is named

A 22-year-old man who died in a crash involving two cars on Monday has been named as Vitor Dinarte Fernandes.

Police said a green Volvo and a white Honda Integra collided on Victoria Avenue, near to the junction with First Tower, just after 22:00 GMT.

Mr Fernandes died at the scene. A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

An 18-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman are being treated in hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
