Guernsey States propose complaints change
Guernsey's States may change the way it handles complaints against politicians, according to the committee responsible.
States Assembly and Constitution Committee Chairman, Deputy Matt Fallaize, said changes to the process were being considered.
The code of conduct panel is made up of people appointed by the Bailiff, who respond to specific complaints.
Deputy Fallaize said the idea was to introduce a commissioner who could bring his or her own complaints.
He said: "Putting it simply the code of conduct is a document that sets out minimum standards of behaviour expected by politicians.
"We are considering the possibility of making changes to the process so that in future rather than a panel there might be a commissioner who can initiate complaints him or herself."
