Vets4Pets jobs to go at Guernsey headquarters

Thirty-five jobs will go at the Guernsey headquarters of a UK-wide veterinary company.

Vets4Pets was set up in the island in 2001, but was bought by shop chain Pets at Home earlier this month.

A company spokesman said the "support function roles" would be phased out over 12 months.

He said the two on-island practices would not be affected by the redundancies and would continue to operate as normal.

The spokesman said the company intended to open a store in Guernsey within the same period, which would create up to 20 jobs.
