Clean-up efforts in Guernsey are continuing following blizzards.

Heavy snow and strong winds battered the island on Monday and Tuesday, bringing down more than 60 trees.

Nick Nichol, senior manager at States Works, said workers had been clearing twigs, leaves and small branches throughout the weekend to ensure drains were not blocked.

He added that much of the snow had melted and clearing debris from the island's roads was a priority.

He said islanders could help by clearing the pavements and gutters in front of their homes.
