Guernsey's Torteval parish erects jubilee mast
Guernsey's Torteval parish has unveiled a new signal mast to mark Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee.
The mast has been placed on headland at Pleinmont, above Les Pezeries, and will be inaugurated by Air Marshal Peter Walker, the Lieutenant Governor.
Peter Ferguson, a Torteval Constable, said the area was historically used as a signal point for sailors.
The mast forms part of a legacy project undertaken by the parish to mark 60 years of the Queen's reign.
