Herm has received two awards in the Royal Horticultural Society's Britain in Bloom competition.

The island was awarded gold in the contest's "Coastal up to 12k" category at an awards ceremony in Guernsey.

As well as the gold award, Herm also jointly won the Britain in Bloom Tourism Award for using floral initiatives to attract tourists.

Lesley Bailey, chairwoman of Herm in Bloom, says the awards recognise the island's hard work over the last year.

Guernsey hosted the annual awards ceremony, which was held at Beau Sejour leisure centre.

Herm shared the Tourism Award with Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, which also won the silver gilt award in the Coastal up to 12k category.
