Fire at derelict Guernsey hotel treated as 'suspicious'

A fire at a former hotel in Guernsey is being treated as suspicious by police.

Firefighters spent six hours tackling the fire at the derelict Idlerocks Hotel, at Jerbourg.

At its peak, about 20 firefighters fought the blaze. Guernsey Fire and Rescue Service said it started at about 01:20 BST and it was under control six hours later.

A spokesman said four firefighters would remain at the hotel to dampen down the site.
