Guernsey States agree food supplement proposals
The States of Guernsey has agreed to draft laws to regulate food supplements, their nutritional information and health claims.
The changes are expected to bring the island into line with the European Union.
They will include more control on what can be manufactured and sold as well as how products are labelled and marketed.
Health Minister Hunter Adam said the law would ensure island companies could trade freely with the UK and Europe.
The motion was opposed by a 2,000 strong petition and a delaying motion in the States, which was defeated by 29 to 14 votes.
