Two men drown during Greek holiday
Two men have drowned while on holiday on the Greek island of Crete.
They were Irishman Kevin Devine, from Drogheda, County Louth, and John Lynch, originally from Australia but who had been living in Dublin for some time.
The incident happened on Friday and the bodies of two men, who were both in their 40s, were recovered from the sea.
Mr Devine's parents told the Irish broadcaster RTÉ they were being helped by the Greek authorities and by the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs.
They said they "deeply appreciate their support at this difficult time".
In a statement, the Devine family added: "Kevin was the second eldest of our children and beloved by his brothers and sister. He loved travel, music and discovering new bands."
The broadcaster described Mr Lynch as an accomplished international musician who played viola with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra.
