A spectacular waterspout swept across a Belgian beach causing damage along the shore.

According to witnesses, everything happened within a few seconds as the waterspout swept across the Zeebrugge beach knocking down beach chairs and booths, and damaging a terrace.

A waterspout is formed by the collision of cold air over the warm sea and relatively common along the Belgian coast, but they usually they stay above the sea and do not come ashore.
