Thousands of people have gathered in Berlin to cheer the victorious German football squad, who beat Argentina in the World Cup final.

Their victory was the first since the reunification of East and West Germany in the early 1990s.

The players celebrated with an impromptu musical performance in front of cheering crowds, after arriving on an open-topped bus.
