Teenage boy loses three fingers in attack in Clondalkin, County Dublin

A 16-year-old boy has had three fingers severed during an aggravated burglary in County Dublin.

Two masked men, armed with what police believe was a knife, entered a house at Kilcronan Close, Clondalkin, at 00:10 BST on Saturday.

The teenager was taken to St James's Hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police said they are treating this as a serious attack and have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

It is understood police are waiting for the boy to be released from hospital before interviewing him.
