Eastern Ukraine: Aftermath of 'fatal gun battle'

23 May 2014 Last updated at 15:49 BST

Violence in eastern Ukraine, particularly Donetsk and Luhansk, has seriously disrupted preparations for Ukraine's presidential election.

Separatist insurgents in the two regions declared independence after they disputed referendums earlier this month and have pledged to derail the presidential poll.

Olga Ivshina reports from Karlovka, 10 km from the city of Donetsk, where a fatal gun battle has occurred.
