A Turkish miner, who escaped the mine disaster in Soma, has described his guilt at not being able to save some of his colleagues.

At least 284 people have been confirmed dead following the mine collapse.

The 29-year-old, who has since been reunited with his family, said he felt "very bad" remembering his colleagues calling out for their loved ones.

He told BBC Radio 5 live's Tom Burridge via a translator: "When I close my eyes, they are on my mind... when I was trying to get out, all of them were screaming."
