Irish soldiers questioned over County Donegal pipe bomb

Two members of the Irish army are being questioned after a pipe bomb was found at a house in County Donegal.

An army bomb disposal team was called to the scene in Burnfoot on Monday and dealt with the viable device.

The man and a woman, who are both serving soldiers, were subsequently arrested.

The man was arrested at about 15:00 GMT and the woman at about 22:00 GMT when she returned home.

They are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and can be questioned for up to three days.
