Francois Hollande's partner leaves Paris hospital

France's First Lady Valerie Trierweiler has left hospital in Paris after spending eight days recovering from severe stress.

She was admitted after allegations emerged that her partner, President Francois Hollande, was having a long-standing affair with the French actress Julie Gayet.

The president has been visiting his old political powerbase in the southern town of Tulle, from where Chris Morris reports.
