Two men are still being questioned by police investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a Dublin flat.

Vincent Maher, 29, was found dead in the bedroom of the ground-floor flat at Spring Mount Apartments in Finglas at about 11:00 GMT on Saturday.

The police and the state pathologist carried out an examination at the scene before his body was taken to the city morgue for a post mortem examination.

The arrested men, who are both in their 20s, were detained in Finglas.

'Suspicious'

Police said that a party had taken place at the apartment block on Friday night.

They have appealed to anyone who attended the party between 20:00 GMT on Friday and 07:00 GMT on Saturday to contact them.

The Irish state broadcaster, RTÉ, said it understood the dead man had sustained a number of injuries.

A Garda (Irish police) spokesperson said they were not releasing details of preliminary post-mortem results "for operational reasons".

An incident room has been set up at Finglas Garda Station and several people who attended the party have already come forward to help the investigation.
