Image of girl found in O'Connell Street, Dublin, released

Teenage girl found in Dublin The unidentified teenage girl was found in a distressed state

Police trying to indentify a teenage girl found in a distressed state in Dublin last month have released a photograph of her.

The girl, believed to be aged 14 or 15, was found on O'Connell Street on 10 October.

Dublin High Court last week granted police permission to release information about the teenager.

Despite intensive efforts they were unable to establish who she is, where she comes from or who her family are.

Police have said the investigation to date has involved more than 2,000 man hours and 115 lines of enquiry.

The young girl is described as being 5ft 6ins in height, of slim build, with long blonde hair.

When found she was wearing a purple hooded top, tight coloured jeans, flat black shoes and a grey woollen jumper.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who may recognise the girl to come forward.
