Nazi funeral stopped amid protests

16 October 2013 Last updated at 02:11 BST

A funeral service in Italy for the Nazi war criminal Erich Priebke has been called off after angry protests broke out.

More than 500 people shouted "murderer" and "executioner", clashing with Nazi sympathisers as the coffin passed.

The former German SS officer was jailed for life in 1998 over the killing of more than 300 civilians in 1944.
