Edward Snowden's father thanks Russia for son's asylum

The father of US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden has thanked Russia for granting his son temporary asylum.

Lon Snowden said he was thankful to the Russian people and President Vladimir Putin.

"Hopefully he is going to get some rest and focus on his health," he said in an interview with Rossiya 24 television.
