France marks Bastille Day with fireworks

15 July 2013 Last updated at 04:28 BST

France has celebrated its annual Bastille Day with a patriotic firework display in Paris.

The display lasted around 30 minutes and cost about 600,000 euros (£518,000; $784,000).

This year's event was overshadowed by Friday's fatal train crash at Bretigny-sur-Orge, south of Paris, in which six people died.
