Pope Francis has made his first parish visit as Bishop of Rome.

He chose to celebrate Mass at a new church on the outskirts of the capital.

The Pope was greeted by hundreds of cheering Catholics, who waved handkerchiefs in the white and yellow colours of the Vatican.

David Willey reports from Rome.
