Syria crisis: Russia 'hasn't violated international agreements'

Help

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has defended Russia's selling of sophisticated weapons to Syria.

The New York Times quotes unnamed US officials as saying the missiles could be used to counter any potential future foreign military intervention in Syria.

Without confirming details, Mr Lavrov said that his country was not breaking any international rules.

Mr Lavrov made the comments as he attended peace talks with UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon.
