Pope Francis 'not afraid of radical choices'

Cardinals in Rome have selected Argentine Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio to lead the Catholic Church.

The new Pope was greeted by cheering crowds in Rome's St Peter's Square and asked the faithful to pray for him.

The first Latin American and the first Jesuit to be pontiff will call himself Francis I.

The Archbishop of Westminster Vincent Nichols described him as man who was "not afraid to make radical decisions".
