Italy elections: Populist decisions 'a mistake', says Barroso
With no outright winner in Italy's elections there is uncertainty among European leaders about what will happen next.
Several political figures have called on Italy not to give up the austerity measures which began under the previous prime minister.
European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said there were tough policy decisions to be made and that would take great leadership, but stressed "The mistake would be now... to give up to populism".
