Pope urges peace in Middle East
Pope Benedict has used his customary Christmas blessing and message to call for peace in the world, particularly in Syria, the Middle East and North Africa.
Addressing thousands of people in St Peter's Square, he condemned the conflict for leaving the country "wounded and deeply divided".
