Irish policeman arrested over alleged sexual assault

A policeman has been arrested in the Republic of Ireland over an alleged sexual assault.

He was detained by investigators from the Garda Ombudsman Commission, an independent body that deals with complaints about the Irish police.

The officer has been suspended from his job and is being questioned at Loughrea Garda station in County Galway.
