County Cork house fire: Elderly man dies

A 74-year-old man has died in a house fire in County Cork in the Republic of Ireland.

The alarm was raised at about 20:00 GMT on Sunday by a member of the public who saw the fire a terraced house in Rathcormac, near Fermoy.

The Irish broadcaster, RTE, reported that at least three fire brigade units were needed to extinguish the blaze.

It cause of the fire is not yet known but it is not being treated as suspicious.
