Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti and UK premier David Cameron have been holding talks in Rome, with the focus on the European economy.
Speaking at a joint news conference, Mr Monti confirmed that funds had been released to come to the aid of Italy's earthquake-hit areas.
A series of tremors and aftershocks struck central and northern Italy last month, leaving more than 20 people dead and thousands homeless.
