Aoife Phelan disappearance: Man questioned over suspected murder

Police investigating the suspected murder of a woman in the Republic of Ireland are continuing to question a man about her disappearance.

Aoife Phelan went missing from Portlaoise, County Laois last month.

The pregnant 30-year-old left Colliers View in the town on 25 October and there has been no trace of her since.

Hundreds of local people have been involved in searches for her. Police have confirmed that they are treating her disappearance as a murder inquiry.

The 24-year-old man who was arrested remains in police custody in County Laois.
