Spanish workers protest against austerity measures

Help

People from across Spain gathered in the capital, Madrid, to demonstrate against government austerity measures.

The protesters included police, firemen, teachers and health workers.

They accuse the Spanish government of introducing cuts that fall mainly on the middle and lower classes, while sparing the rich.

Tom Burridge reports from Madrid.
