Vatican newspaper gives seal of approval to bald Barbie
The Vatican's official daily newspaper has given its seal of approval to a new bald version of the doll for children who have lost their hair through chemotherapy or illness.
Manufacturer Mattel will donate the doll, which comes with a collection of wigs, hats and scarves, to paediatric hospitals which treat children suffering from cancer.
In an unusual step, the paper has featured the doll on its front page, even urging Mattel to go a step further and market the doll on store shelves.
