Fancy buying a house for about 3,500 euros?

That is the reserve price on each of 14 homes in an unfinished County Kerry housing estate that are going under the hammer on Friday.

The estate on the Dingle peninsula is one of 90 lots due to be sold at the property auction in a Dublin hotel.

The 14 houses sit on three acres at Annagh Banks and have a reserve of 50,000 euros.

Annagh Banks was developed on the edge of Castlemaine village at the gateway to the Dingle Peninsula just before the recession hit and property prices collapsed.

It was abandoned about five years ago and remains unfinished.

The community in Castlemaine wants Annagh Banks completed and cleaned up.

Auctioneers Allsop Space are selling distressed and other properties at the auction.

In the village of Sneem on the Ring of Kerry, an unfinished estate of 42 houses is on sale for 500,000 euros.

Sneem won the overall Tidy Towns title in 1987 and has won a prize in the competition every year since. Ard an Oir is a development of 42 houses on the eastern edge of Sneem. It is unfinished and for sale for 500,000 euros.

Ard an Oir is one of 50 unfinished housing developments in Kerry and more than 2,000 nationally.
