Boy loses fingers in suspected bomb blast in Wicklow

A five-year-old boy who picked up a suspected pipe bomb in County Wicklow has lost some of his fingers after it exploded.
The child picked up the device near him house at Sycamore Drive, Newtownmountkennedy, around 08:30 BST on Wednesday.
He was taken to Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin in Dublin for surgery.
Gardai have launched an investigation.
