Venice whirlwind caught on film
A tornado-like whirlwind has hit Sant'Erasmo island in the lagoon surrounding Venice, reportedly ripping the roofs off at least 12 buildings.
There was also major damage in several other islands, including Sant'Elena and Certosa, where dozens of trees were uprooted.
No injuries have been reported.
