Euros found inside curtains given to Barnardos shop in Dublin

The hunt is on to find the owner of a pair of curtains that were donated to a Dublin charity shop.

A large sum of cash was found pinned inside the lining of the curtains that were handed in to Barnardos in Rathmines.

The amount of money has not been disclosed but the children's charity said it was a "four-figure sum.

A woman left the curtains in to the shop about 13:30 BST on Wednesday.

Colette Miller, manager of Barnardos in Ireland, said "We feel that she probably didn't even know that the cash was pinned inside the curtains and we wanted to let her know that we found it and ask her to get in touch with us.

"Over the years, we've had some unusual items donated to us from much sought after Clarice Cliff art deco crockery to engagement rings, a jacket worn by Colm Meaney in the film Into the West and even grass cuttings."

The charity said while demand for clothing and household items was growing, donations were declining.

Barnardos has six shops in the Republic of Ireland.
