'Flying Dutchman' admits video was a hoax

A Dutch "bird-man" who posted a video of himself "flying" in a home-made wing suit on YouTube, has admitted it was a hoax.

Jarno Smeets had told people he was inspired to build the bird suit by drawings by his grandfather of a flying bicycle.

But after no scientists could be found who knew Mr Smeets, viewers became suspicious.

Mr Smeets has now confessed that he is actually an animation artist and film-maker called Floris Kaayk.
