Time lapse footage of northern lights
The skies above Lapland, Finland, have been lit up with a spectacular display from the northern lights.
Time lapse footage captured magical images of the phenomenon, which is caused by charged gas particles that flow away from the Sun as a "solar wind" then interact with the Earth's magnetic field.
Scientist say Earth is currently being bombarded by high-energy particles unleashed by the strongest solar storm since 2005.
