Russian brave freezing waters for Epiphany celebrations
Russian Orthodox Christians mark the celebration of the Epiphany by plunging into icy water.
It is not unknown for the temperatures in some areas to fall below minus 50 degrees celsius, but that did nothing to dissuade believers from taking part in the annual tradition.
Some also think that freezing water can have beneficial health effects.
