Is the design of big cruise ships flawed?

Investigators are working to establish exactly what went wrong and how far human error was to blame after the Costa Concordia's hull was torn open on Friday.

A new map drawn up by maritime experts has plotted the exact course of the ship and shows that it did deviate from its normal course.
