Pressure on Irish government to pardon WWII deserters

Pressure is growing on the Irish government to issue a pardon to men who deserted the Irish army in World War II to join up and fight with the British.

The survivors who returned from war were put on an official blacklist, banning them from employment, benefits and pensions. Many also had their children taken into care.
