French President Sarkozy stays cool in security scare
Nicolas Sarkozy kept a cool head when he was grabbed by a man and nearly knocked to the ground during a visit to Brax on Thursday.
The French president was greeting members of the public when the incident happened. He was unharmed and continued to shake hands after the initial shock of the moment.
The assailant was not armed and was taken for questioning in the nearby town of Agen, according to the national police service.
An official with the service said that the 32-year-old Frenchman lives in the Lot-et-Garonne region and works in the theatre business.
