Greek debt crisis: Athens police and protesters clash
In Athens, police have been fighting running battles with demonstrators, while the rest of the city takes part in a two-day general strike against government plans to raise taxes and cut public spending.
Masked demonstrators threw petrol bombs at riot police on the eve of a key vote on more spending cuts and tax rises.
With Greece on the brink of bankruptcy, the government has to win the vote to secure an emergency international loan.
